TEAK DECING
How Your New Teak Deck is Installed
Removal of the old deck, vacuum bonding and installation:
This is how we install your new teak deck
1
Removal of the old teak deck
If it is not a first time teak deck installment, the old deck should be removed before fitting a new teak deck. Once the deck removal is complete, all screw holes are sealed and the deck is prepared for vacuum bonding. Teak deck removal is a position that can also be performed by the owners themselves - We are happy to provide advice and assistance in this case.

2
Preparation of the boat deck
Once the old teak deck has been removed, the boat deck is examined and prepared for a new teak deck. For GRP boats, we pay great attention to a watertight deck, a dry sandwich core and an undamaged gelcoat. On yachts made of steel, the corrosion protection is checked or renewed and plywood decks are sealed. If the boat deck is in a technically sound condition, the deck is chemically cleaned and prepared for vacuum bonding with a primer.

3
Vacuum bonding
Hardly any other development has shaped modern boatbuilding as much as the vacuum bonding process. Here, the component to be bonded is sealed against the ambient air with a vacuum film and special vacuum pumps evacuate the remaining air under the film. As a result, the atmosphere presses the two components together with up to 10 tonnes per square metre. By using this technology, our decks fit exactly and the bonds are bubble-free.

4
Completion
After the teak deck has been glued to the surface, the joints are drawn and the deck hardware is fitted and screwed in place. The renewal of a teak deck is a good opportunity to also change the deck layout or modernise parts of the deck hardware . We are experienced sailors and will be happy to advise you. We also work with the leading manufacturers of deck hardware and can offer you a wide portfolio of products.
